FAQs

How do I choose the right size box for my shipment?
Choose a box that's slightly larger than your item to allow for cushioning material on all sides. Your item should not touch the box walls. World Cargo recommends at least 2 inches of padding on every side.
How do I properly seal a box for shipment?
Use strong pressure-sensitive tape at least 2 inches wide. Apply tape along all seams — top, bottom, and edges. The H-taping method (along the center seam and both edges) provides the strongest seal.
What precautions should I take when packing valuable items?
Wrap each valuable item individually with bubble wrap or foam. Use a sturdy double-walled box, fill all empty space with cushioning material, and consider purchasing additional declared value coverage for high-value shipments.
Can I reuse old boxes for shipping?
Yes, but only if the box is structurally sound with no tears, crush marks, or moisture damage. Remove or cover all old labels and markings completely before reuse to avoid delivery errors.
Do I need to label the package?
Yes. Every package must have a clear, legible shipping label with both sender and recipient addresses. Place the label on the largest flat surface of the package and avoid placing it over seams or edges.
How can I help prevent my package from getting stolen?
Use discreet packaging that doesn't reveal the contents. Enable delivery notifications so you know when your package arrives. You can also request a signature confirmation or redirect delivery to a secure pickup location.
How do I ensure the correct side of the box faces upward?
Mark the box clearly with "This Side Up" arrows on multiple sides. You can also use orientation-sensitive labels available at World Cargo retail locations. For fragile items, include a "Fragile" label as well.
